On the 12th December 2011, rugby league laid to rest one of its thorough gentlemen. Jim was born in Parramatta and grew up in Wentworthville. His rugby league career started with Parramatta East Junior Rugby League, representing Parramatta President’s Cup before being graded and playing for Parramatta. His everlasting love of the game saw him return to the Parramatta East Club to coach.
The respect these young players had for Jim was a tribute to the man. How fortunate were these young men of league to have such a wonderful role model and mentor.
Although Jim was a passionate follower of Parramatta, his greatest love was for his close family, wife Heather “his rock” and children Angela and Stephen. Even aunties and uncles attended Shelly Beach Little Nippers and followed Stephen’s football career with The Entrance Rugby League Football Club.
May I say on behalf of your family and many friends Jim… “Thanks for the memories”.
