Riverina Get Up Close And Personal With Canberra Raiders

Men of League meet Canberra Raiders On Monday, 8th February 2010 the Riverina Men of League got up close and personal with the Canberra Raiders Top Squad and staff in a successful fund raising evening held at the Officers Mess of Kapooka Army Barracks. With Commandant Colonel Graeme Finney providing a rare opportunity for the public to access the base a substantial meal was laid on for the 42 Raiders and the 42 Men of League to sit and enjoy.

It was wonderful to witness the camaraderie that football provides for young and old with current internationals such as Joel Monaghan and Terry Campese mixing with past internationals like Kevin Goldspink and Chris Mortimer. From young Raider hopefuls to old Rugby League die-hards football was discussed without the need for speeches and ceremony, all the while raising over $1000 for charity.

Thanks go to Captain Alan Lynch who orchestrated the evening and Dave Barnhill Jr for transporting the guests to and from the base.
