Our committee has had a quiet start to the year. Planning is underway for our social events for 2010. We have decided to support the Men of League Golf Day at Nelson Bay that Jim hall is organising as our first major social event for the year. The weekend event will be held at Nelsons Bay in beautiful Port Stephens over the weekend of 29 - 30 May. Nelson Bay Golf Course has 27 holes so more teams and sponsors can be accommodated.
There will be a dinner on the Saturday night with John “Bomber” Peard as guest speaker followed by Golf on Sunday. Anyone interested in playing can contact Jim Hall or Ross Gigg for details.
The local committee are also planning a night at Newcastle Trots later in the year, probably late October. Race sponsorships will be available as well as dining packages. Details will be finalised in the next few weeks. We will also be holding our Annual Social Golf Day at either Waratah or Maitland Golf Club in either August or September.
