Our Committee was pleased to welcome Dennis O’Neill from England to our February Meeting. Apart from being a former team mate of our Committee President Brian Atherton, Dennis played for Great Britain in 1972 when England won the World Cup.
He was a classy five eight and was picked by Harry Bath following the tournament in the World team in that position, with Bob Fulton in the centres. Dennis played 250 games for Widnes, four tests for Great Britain and eight games for Lancashire.
